The Fang Laboratory is located within the University of California San Diego's School of Medicine. Dr. Ronnie H. Fang is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics who received his graduate and postdoctoral training in Dr. Liangfang Zhang's nanomaterials & nanomedicine laboratory in the Department of NanoEngineering at the University of California San Diego. There, he helped to pioneer the development of a new class of biomimetic nanoparticles that are disguised by natural cell membranes.
Currently, the goal of the Fang Laboratory is to find new and exciting medical applications for cell membrane-coated nanoparticles with the goal of improving the overall quality of human health. Our research focuses on leveraging these biomimetic nanoparticles to address a range of medical problems, with an emphasis on immunoengineering, nanodetoxification, and targeted delivery.
